Carbon Tax here to stay 18/02/2011 »
Carbon Tax will hit your pocket hard

Less Energy used, Less Money spent
Now that carbon tax is going to go on all fuels you use, it is time to make your home more Energy Efficient so as to save you money. The proposed increase in Carbon Tax will be a percentage of the cost of the fuel used ie. Oil, Coal, Turf and Gas.
The only way to beat such an increase in Tax is by cutting down on the amount of fuel it takes to heat your home and domestic hot water. The way to do this is to insulate attics and cavities in walls, dry lining or fitting external insulation on stone walls, installing high efficiency boilers, upgrading heating controls and replacing old windows.
Before undertaking this work it is worth thinking about getting a Building Energy Rating BER carried out on your home so as to spend your money on the right Energy saving measures. Greener Energy Homes can tailor a package to include; a BER assessment, an advisory report and a detailed list of improvements which you can then give to a number of contractors to price (this means they are all pricing the same work and materials), inspections while the work is ongoing and then a final BER Cert.
Greener Energy Homes Assessors Ltd cover Cavan, Leitrim, Longford, Westmeath, and Monaghan.
